1961 Wurlitzer 2510
Following a disappointing year Wurlitzer released an all new design again for 1961. It’s worth mentioning that the cabinet sported some features from past models. Other than that, the model range was continued just like in previous years. The new 2500 offered as selection of 200 songs, the 2504 104 songs and the 2510 100 songs. Again, all three were available in mono and stereo versions.
The design might have changed, but sales didn’t. They were far from what Wurlitzer executives were aiming for. Less than 4,000 were sold of the 2500 and 2510 models, and not even half that number of the 2504. But it was not only the new models to blame, at that point jukeboxes had surpassed their heyday and were facing a massive decline in interest.
This example has been converted to 220V in the past and still presents itself in very good, cosmetically largely unrestored condition. However, we have not tried if it works and therefore it will be strictly sold as is, without any guarantee for functionality.
