An Imposing Baroque Cabinet on Chest, - A Styrian Collection I

so-called ‘Barocktabernakel’, 18th century and later, type ‘à trois corps’, curved front, angled softwood frame, mainly walnut veneer, marquetry with several fruitwoods in the form of panels and bands, chest with 3 drawers, writing compartment with fall-front and 2 external drawers, upper section with 12 drawers - the latter with central locking mechanism, 1 bombé niche door, defined volutes on the rear side, domed moulded finish of conical form, c. 202 x 141 x 83 cm, some wood parts missing and supplemented, signs of age and use.
