A 26.95 carat diamond solitaire under the hammer

Outstanding rarities at auction at Dorotheum in Vienna on 18 April 2013

Such diamonds - especially in this size - are rare. The experts at Dorotheum Vienna acquired a rarity for auction: an outstanding ring with a 26.95 carat diamond solitaire - the highlight of the jewellery auction of 18 April 2013. The Ring is estimated between 380,000 and 500,000 Euros, the international certificate attesting a natural color between natural fancy light yellow and fancy yellow. The ring came from private property.

The trend for untreated stones is followed by two other rings of the auction: One with a 5 carat ruby with diamonds (estimate € 12,500 to 18,500), and one with a 4.5 carat sapphire with diamonds (€ 18,000 - 25,000).

Even the antique jewellery section Dorotheum offers excellent qualities: A pair of diamond earrings with a total of 10.75 carat from the 1st third of the 20th century is estimated between 50,000 and 80,000 Euros, another pair of diamond earrings with a total of 9.55 ct diamonds from the 19th Century should fetch 10,000 to 15,000 euros.

From the traditional Parisian jeweller J. CHAUMET, the "Jeweler of Kings", a highly decorative diamond brooch in an extraordinary design with a 47 carat Peridot is on offer. It was made in the 19th Century, the estimate is 10,000 to 15,000 euros.

Modern design and high quality workmanship show the earclips with approximately 10 ct diamonds and 8 carat sapphires of the Italian jeweller Moroni (estimate € 10,000 – 15,000). There are 34 carats of diamonds and 21-carat sapphires on an opulent necklace (estimate € 50,000 – 60,000).

The Dorotheum auction on 18 April 2013 offers a total of 187 exquisite jewels.
