OLD MASTERS FOR EVERY TASTE

High demand at the Dorotheum auction on April 24, 2018

The Auction Week began with high demand for Dutch paintings during the Old Masters auction at Dorotheum, as did the all-time favorite Italian painters. In a full auction hall on April 24, 2018, the catalog cover lot, a still life by Balthasar van der Ast, was auctioned for 369,000 euros.

A landscape by Pieter Brueghel I and a multi-figured carnival scene by David Vinckboons highly exceeded expectations with sales prices of 344,600 and 295,800 euros.

Among the Italian paintings, the allegory of Fame of Giovanni Francesco Romanelli earned a hammer price of 222,600 euros.
