Costume Treasures of the Vienna State Opera

For the benefit of the youth work of the Vienna State Opera

Handmade costumes of legendary opera productions from the collection of the Vienna State Opera, will come up for auction. World stars have performed at the Vienna State Opera and worn these costumes: Edita Gruberova, Anna Netrebko, Francisco Araiza, Roberto Alagna, Rolando Villazón, Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, Neil Shicoff or Piotr Beczala, Sena Jurinac or Gwyneth Jones. The elaborate robes come from popular productions such as »Carmen« (Franco Zeffirelli), »Rigoletto«, »Lucia di Lammermoor«, »Madama Butterfly« or »Un ballo in Maschera«.

The proceeds from the auction will go entirely to the youth work of the Vienna State Opera.

The auction will be conducted by Dorotheum on behalf of and for the account (conveyance) of the Wiener Staatsoper GmbH. A direct business relationship will be established between the Wiener Staatsoper GmbH and the buyer.

The prices quoted are starting prices. The increments will increase by approximately 10% of the starting price and/or the previous bid.

No surcharges or fees will be added to the bid. The highest bid will be invoiced by Wiener Staatsoper and includes statutory taxes. The delivery of the collection ticket will take place after receipt of payment.
