Rare “Tectaform” chair, designed by Arnold Bode,
for Domus Raumkunst, Germany, bent plywood, original fabric upholstery, brass screws, height ca. 78 cm, width ca. 62 cm, depth ca. 85 cm, seat height ca. 40 cm. (MHA)
Based on a design drawing by Arnold Bode from a part of a portfolio with designs of “Tectaform” furniture personally dedicated to Schöck, the former head of Domus, and dated “mid-February 1953”, the highback version is reproduced without armrests. Arnold Bode was active in the 1950s as a decorator and designer. He founded documenta in Kassel in 1955 together with Werner Haftmann. He was its artistic director until 1968.
