Japanese salon cabinet, - Mobili e arti decorative

Shadona, circa 1900 (Meiji Period 1868-1912). A two-part mahogany and rosewood cabinet finely carved and pierced with flowers and dragon motifs, also with lacquer panels with gold-coloured, mother-of-pearl and ivory applications, combined with figural motifs. The lower section has one drawer; the upper section has various shelves and nine doors, one of which has writing in inside (characters), ca. 238 x 135 x 43 cm. Some ageing, with some losses. The ivory is covered by endangered species legislation. (PZ)
