Franz von Bayros (1866 -1924), also known as Marquis de Bayros was the Austrian graphic, illustrator and painter Fin de siècle. He also published his works under the pseudonym Choisy Le Conin. Bayros is often compared with Aubrey Beardsley and Félicien Rops. Unlike them Bayros was often forced to succumb his talents to market conditions. His illustrations of classics of erotic literature are characterised by composition, delicate play with ornament and delight in the prevailing ambiance.
