A “Dining Trolley”, designed by Joe Colombo, - Design

1970, for Rosenthal’s “Living Centre” programme, Germany, white, grey and black laminate, stainless steel, plastic, the central block equipped with an electric hot plate, a bottle cooler, and a shelf for tableware, the long sides may be opened to form a table, on castors, length 171 cm, width 109 cm, height 71.5 cm. With completely furnished interior. Apart from this dining trolley, Colombo’s idea of a modern and communicative living unit comprised a number of variable seat objects and a small serving trolley. All of the modules were mounted on castors to ensure a maximum of mobility and flexibility. Like most of the radical design concepts, this one was also only produced for a short period.
