1973 Maserati Bora 4900

1973 Maserati Bora 4900 - Autoveicoli d'epoca

Only 3 owners from new and in the third owner's hands since 1989, extremely modest mileage of 38.506 miles! Maserati unveiled the Bora at the Geneva Motor Show of 1971. This car, Maserati's first mid-engined sports car, was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Just as in a racing car, the Bora's engine was located at the rear, which allowed it's body to be lower still. Nestled close to the ground, this super sports car will effortlessly cruise at 270 km/h on the motorway. By 1978, Maserati had only built 564 Boras, 275 of which were 4900's. The present Maserati was built in April 1973 in silver, with a bianco leather interior and, according to the Avisio di Spedizione, shipped to Miami in the US on 26 April 1973. According to the previous keeper, its leather seats were dyed black in 1985, and it was purchased by the vendor from its second owner in May 1989 following a personal inspection in Boston. The sleek machine subsequently became part of the new keepers sport car collection and was driven only rarely. The bills included in the Bora's file verify that it was well and extensively serviced and maintained. In 2012, its paintwork was stripped and it was newly painted, as verified by photographs. Its US-specific details were purposely maintained because they are also original. In October 2015, it received new tyres, its air conditioning system was serviced and converted to R134a, and its brake system overhauled. The future owner will subsequently be coming into possession of a 1970s super sports car with matching numbers as per the Maserati certificate, and the vendor will be passing this stunning vehicle on in time for his 80th birthday!
