Henri Laurens only turned to making lithographs in 1950. These works have a very vivid and three-dimensional style. The print offered here shows a female figure simultaneously in motion and at rest. Thus Laurens dealt with the question of motion in the context of printed media and highlighted it by his use of colour. The ochre degraded from the mid-1950s and the red-brown from the mid-1940s.
