West Turkestan, c. 72 x 113 cm, first half of the 19th century, AS 2 (asymmetrical knot, open to the right, unlayered), V 50, H 85 = c. 4,250 kts/sqm; magnificent, finely knotted chuval with rare blue, navy, yellow and green hues, a high silk proportion and use of cotton, variants of the coffered Aina gul with staggered polygons at its centre were also popular among the Salor-Turkmens, especially remarkable is the full-pattern elem with crowned white ashik decorations, upper kilim folded back, the lower section with kilim of the back weave, original side edges, good pile condition with cloth-like feel, heavily corroded silk. A collector’s piece.
