West Turkestan, c. 67 x 125 cm, late 19th century Sy1, with a high percentage of cotton wefts; the present piece is a camel hanging featuring seven trees and patterns of “ashik” guls with diagonal alternating colours, and has also been in use as such; the colours on the facing side have suffered over the years due to weathering, otherwise good overall condition with original finishes and replaced side edges.
