Tekke Khordjin,
West Turkestan, c. 53 x 16 cm, second half of the 19th century, this small dainty double bag has a special charm, it was not manufactured from a single piece, but subsequently put together from diverse pieces: on a white cotton foundation are two parts of a former, larger ak chuval in mixed technique with kilim ground and knotted patterned stripes, the light-coloured kilim parts of the chuval are executed with cotton wefts, and a few knotted parts of the pattern reveal the presence of silk knots.
