South Turkestan, c. 106 x 165 cm, late 19th century, large tent bag with a 4 x 5 primary gul arrangement and “chemche” secondary motifs, the kotchanak main border is accompanied by two “djudur” stripes, beautiful tree elem with white-ground outer border, also unusual are the brown and white pattern lines along the short sides; consistently deep pile, both woven finishes stitched on the back, each with one small repair to the upper left and lower right corners.
