Tekke Torba Fragment,
West Turkestan, c. 51 x 120 cm, first half of the 19th century, the present 12-gul torba in fine knotting with c. 4,500 kts/sqm displays silky wool quality and bright colours, full pile with a high proportion of ruby-red silk in many pattern details, on the left narrow edge a vertical trace of moth damage, which is probably why the border was once removed, despite replaced right selvedges and reduced lower end this is a top collector’s piece.
