A seating machine, designed and manufactured by Johannes Hradecny - Design

in 2002, beech, white beech and nut adjustable construction. 119 movable wooden cubes individually mounted on hand-forged steel springs. Adjustable back rest. Height c. 121 cm, seat c. 63 cm wide and c. 55 cm deep. Rest c. 83 cm high and

Johannes Hradecny was born in Vienna on 14 March 1963. He completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter in the studio for antique home furnishings at the Friedrich Otto Schmidt company in 1995. In 1997 he passed the entrance examination for the Academy of Fine Arts. He attended, among others, the course for restoration and conservation techniques taught by Prof. Gerald Kaspar. He also completed a private study of painting with Prof. Willibald Jaruschka. Johannes Hradecny has worked independently as a freelance designer in Vienna and Lower Austria since 1995. He was a recipient of the Dannhauser Designer Prize in 2003, 2004 and 2006. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Vienna. Johannes Hradecny has lived and worked in the Weinviertel since 2014.
