The present drawing is related to a series of bishops by Abraham Bloemaert (compare Louvre, Inv. 22.507) but for stylistic reasons can only be ascribed to an artist in the circle of Bloemaert. See also J. Bolten, Abraham Bloemaert c. 1565–1651, The Drawings, Leiden 2007, Cat. 829).
