A large table lamp with two snakes, lampshade by Johann Lötz Witwe, Klostermühle for E. Bakalowits, Söhne, Vienna c. 1900 - Jugendstil e arte applicata del XX secolo

lampshade: cf production number: Com 85/3800, decoration: cf ‘Phänomen Gre’ 85/5074; green underlaid glass, the clear top layer wrapped in a dense and irregular silver-yellow pattern bent with a hook; mould-blown, pared-down and with iridescence; mount made of brown patinated bronze; with two serpents on the side; under the lampshade behind floral bronze windows green, blue and pink pressed glass also with floral decoration; hanging rods and beads of coloured glass in alternating heights; round lamp base with openwork decoration, taking up motifs from the windows above; the snake winding under the internal bowl; the latter made of faience with coloured eosin glaze on the outside and green glaze on the inside; bowl with a slightly sculptural wave décor echoing that of Lötz shades; probably a bowl from the Zsolnay manufactory, Pecs (signature not visible in the mount); traces of use; electrical fittings require professional servicing; total height: 69.8 cm.
