West Turkestan, c. 42 x 115 cm, first half of the 19th century. A finely knotted 6-gül torba of the "Smith Collection" type, with wide chemche bars in the secondary motifs. The double-horn motifs of abstract animal heads in the light-coloured areas of the güls are especially noteworthy. This storage bag is in very good condition, with a velvety pile and a few minor repairs. The original woven back and decorative fringes have survived.
