500 photographs of ship journey along the coasts of Croatia, Dalmatia, Italy, France and Spain, land stays in Pompeii, Pisa, Palermo, Corfu as well as photographs of the Archduke’s winter residence "Villa Podjavori" on the island of Veli Losinj, probably taken by his wife Maria Theresia, 1895-1905, collodion paper. 23 plates 25 x 34 cm with 274 rolled on photos, c. 5.6 x 8.2 cm 18 plates 25 x 51.8 cm with 50 rolled on photos of c. 14 x 10.3 and 15.7 x 20.8 cm 176 photos of c. 6.5 x 9 and 13 x 18 cm, partly with slight defects, the cardboards with traces of use
Archduke Karl Stephan (1860-1933) was an enthusiastic sailor. He spent several months a year with his family on his luxurious steam yachts in the Mediterranean, sometimes accompanied by prominent guests.
