Louis XVI period, c. 1780, oak and softwood frame, with tulipwood and amaranth veneer, decorated with marquetry panels and ornamental motifs in diverse precious woods, polished finish, canted angles, the front with two doors, one drawer and slanted fall-front writing surface, enclosing a fitted interior with 6 small drawers and several open compartments, supplemented top covering, bronze mounts gilt at a later date, moulded marble top, 143 x 98 x 41 cm, in beautiful restored condition.
