He worked as a flower painter at the manufactory from 1760-1770, creating the most lavish flower paintings. He was also active as a history and landscape painter. In 1772-1779, he created a wall and ceiling decoration for the former Palais Tattenbach in Munich. Fran Anton Bustelli, 1754-1763 model master at the manufactory created a magnificent rococo-style service for the Bavarian court, the first Electoral Court Service (“Churfürstliches Hofservice”) at the Wittelsbach Court, painted by Joseph Zächenberger in 1765. Based on this service, the Porzellan-Manufaktur Nymphenburg created an extensive table decoration from 1912 onwards as a gift from the province of Hanover for the wedding of Ernst August, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg, son of the last Duke of Cumberland, with Victoria Luise, daughter of the last German Emperor Wilhelm II. “Cumberland” features the world’s most elaborate floral decoration. According to the Manufactory, a painter needs up to three weeks to complete a single plate.
