A rare Model No. 3241 crystal chandelier, designed by Eduard Josef Wimmer-Wisgrill
c. 1930, for J. & L. Lobmeyr, Vienna, reduced construction of two cut crystal glass plates, metal fixture and shaft, fitted for three lights, height approx. 50 cm, diameter approx. 50 cm, no guarantee for electrical fittings. (MHA)
This model was part of the lighting for the so-called room “For Two”, conceived by Eduard Josef Wimmer-Wisgrill for an exhibition of Viennese interior designers at the Austrian Museum of Art and Industry in Vienna in 1929/30 and in Paris in 1937. Eduard Josef Wimmer-Wisgrill studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts from 1901 to 1907 under Josef Hoffmann and Alfred Roller. In 1907 he established the Wiener Werkstätte Fashion Department, which he headed from 1910 to 1922. In 1930 he took part in the important Austrian Werkbund exhibition in Vienna.
