A rare B25 seat machine and B63 ottoman, designed by Marcel Breuer
in 1928/29, manufactured by Thonet, Frankenberg, c. 1930, tubular steel construction, multiply adjustable backrest, woven rattan seat and backrest, black stained wooden armrests, height approx. 108 cm, width approx. 60 cm, height of seat approx. 33 cm, depth 85 cm. (MHA)
This armchair was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928/29 and only produced by Thonet for a brief period of time. Model B25 appeared for the first time in Thonet’s factory catalogue for 1929/30 and was no longer reproduced in a brochure dating from 1935. Model B25 was presented for the first time at the 1930 Paris Werkbund exhibition. The seat machine is also part of the collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art.
