Harrach Collection, probably part of the dowry of Princess Maria Eleonora of Liechtenstein (1703–1757) – married Count Friedrich August von Harrach-Rohrau (1696–1749) in 1719;
and thence by descent;
given to the present owner in the early 1980s
The present composition relates to a painting by Carlo Maratta formerly in the Liechtenstein collection, Vienna and now conserved in the Wien Museum, Vienna (inv. no. HMW231904).
