(Nanjing 1934) Lotus Flowers in Autumn, ink and colours on paper, dated c. 1990, 59 x 76 cm, mounted, framed,(CT) According to James Cahill, an authority on Chinese painting, the present work refers in its technical conception to the great tradition of "guohua" (Chinese ink drawing). This work also displays a technique known as ‘brushlessness’, in which Yang Yanping was a pioneer.
