silver, inner gilding, of round form, the body with repoussé rocailles, flowers and 2 male busts in profile, medallion with engraved names, hinged cover with chased oak leaves, engraved baroque flowers, centre with insert medal of Queen Christina of Sweden, lid catch in the form of acorns, handle, 3 pomegranate feet, height 20.5 cm, weight 981 g, master’s mark HL = Heinrich the Elder Leyse, Riga hallmark, c. 1670, (Lu)
The engraved dedication reads: "Die Herrn Beysitzers sind gewesen Eltester Andreas Kretschmer. Casper Decker. Die Altgesellen sind gewesen Georg Sperhard von Dresen. Theodorus Herold von Schraplau. Johan Hardman. Gebhard von Frankfurt am Mein der Schreiber 1683." Master Heinrich the Elder Leyse was ‘Amtsmeister’ from 1644 onwards; he was last mentioned in official registers in 1674; his widow is mentioned 1687.
