gold 585, Austrian gov. hallmark 1872–1922, also to be worn as a pendant, movable central segment with glazed back, signed, 17.1 g, case, brooch element of later date.
Josef Bacher worked as a master goldsmith in Vienna from 1865 to 1882. Many of his works are marked by the archaeological revival style of the late 19th century. A diadem by Josef Bacher & Son is on display in the British Museum.
