The instrumental function of the concave mirror objects by Adolf Luther ‘lies in the fact that they multiply a given reality and, by their powers of reflection, produce a light-like phenomenality that reaches out into the actual space in front of the materiality of the object. Vital here was the principle known to physics that images entering a concave mirror are refracted and projected back into space, albeit upside down, as a pure energetic manifestation in the space.’

Magdalena Broska, Adolf Luther. A Remarkable Career as an Artist, Goch 2012, p. 22
