Outstanding late Baroque glass-fronted bureau cabinet,
3rd quarter of the 18th century. Made mostly in cherry veneer with a polished finish, decorated with marquetry latticework and wave pattern in further fine woods such as mahogany, maple and walnut. The cabinet has a 3-drawer lower section with a serpentine front; a writing section with geometric marquetry decoration and a fitted interior lined in green; the upper section has a stepped moulded plinth and cornice, canted angles, and 2 glazed doors with old glass. Ca. 230 x 123 x 79 cm. In fine restored condition. (DOC)
