An early Renaissance goblet of excellent workmanship from Nuremberg. The owner’s engraving "K. Kochubey" probably refers to the well-known St Petersburg collector Peter Arkadiewitsch Prince Kochubey (1825-1892); the engraved lettering No 40 is the number in Kochubey’s Collection.
