Certificate: Dr. Walther Bernt. Jacques d’Arthois specialised in mostly large format wooded, hilly landscapes with rivers and highlighted sandy places. Alongside Lucas Achtschellinck and Lodewijk de Vadder he was one of the most important exponents of the Brussels school of painting. On occasion David Teniers the Younger painted figural groups for his landscapes.
