Bokhara Suzani, - Orientální koberce, textilie a tapiserie

Southwest Uzbekistan, c. 195 x 201 cm, 19th century, silk embroidery on cotton, several pieces assembled to an almost square textile in stylistic proximity to the “large medaillon” suzanis; the circular flowers with star motif, which are usually distributed across the field in large-medallion suzanis, are embedded in 3 x 4 rows in a separate square in the centre of the field in the present piece; the main border with massive round ornaments, flanked by sickle leaves, constitutes the focus of its design; all sides backed with original ikat fabric, good condition, slightly stained.
