Jan Kath was born in Bochum in 1972. He gained inspiration for his work primarily through his numerous trips to Paris, Istanbul, New York, Tokyo, Beirut and Sydney. His designs are also characterized by the archaic design language of his home - the Ruhr area. This work also shows this connection.
