Afghanistan, Kazakhstan: a typical Kazakh bangle. Made of silver, partly gilded and decorated with 5 silver medallions, glass and underlaid in red.
A bangle in the typical style of the Kazakhs. It is made of quality silver and has bands of engraving around its edges. The wide middle section and both sidelong narrower sections are partly fire gilded. The wide central strip displays five oval medallions with openwork, silver leaf decor that have been underlaid with red glass. They also display some other silver decoration (leaf ornamentation, faux granulation etc.). A very carefully crafted piece, a typical piece of Kazakh jewellery. No damage.
Height: c. 6 cm; diameter: 5.8 cm x 7.3 cm (on the outside).
