Two small, but old pieces of Uzbeck ‘Suzani embroidery’. A blanket (perhaps conceived as a table cloth) made from three strips of lightweight cotton sewn together. On this white coloured background typical Uzbeck ‘Suzani motifs’ are colourfully embroidered around a central, round medallion and trimmed with an embroidered border (using various shades of red, light green, brown and with blue and red outlines). There are some small, insignificant imperfections in the embroidery. Along with this there is a type of ‘cushions’. on a blue base layer made from cotton typical Uzbeck ‘Suzani motifs’ are colourfully embroidered (white, yellow, red, green and blue with black outlines), once again around a central, round medallion (perhaps a symbol of the sun?). The central field is surrounded on the outside by a border of continuous leafy tendrils embroidered in red. Ties embroidered with white, black and red cotton run around the central field and outside. The ‘Suzani cushion’ is underlaid with a printed fabric. No damage.
