Northwest Persia (Iran), c. 550 x 380 cm, about 1900, magnificent oversized carpet in Haji Jalili quality; at the turn of the century American clients commissioned some loosely knotted carpets in pastel colours which were different from Tabriz products; on white ground with patterns of cypresses is an almost full-frame medallion with appendage, the rich colours at the top become lighter towards the bottom, partly low pile, slight edge damage, with inscription: Amal Farmayesh Musa Shomar.
