Emile Louis Vernier Maritime painter, lithographer and etcher. He was a pupil of A. Collette and was influenced by the Barbizon masters. He made his debut as a lithographer at the salon of 1857 and as a painter at the salon of 1864. Initially a landscape painter, towards the end of the 1860’s he dedicated himself to maritime scenes.
