Rare model of a French games table,
2nd half of the 19th century. Veneered in rosewood and decorated with floral marquetry in various partly dyed and burnt fine woods, also decorated with brass mouldings. The folding and sliding top is lined with felt and has a removable games board with chess board marquetry and a later felt games board for Backgammon as well as a later spirit board. Measurements 77.5 x 89.5 x 59 cm, folded out 189.5 cm. Some ageing and wear and evidence of restoration, with some losses. (PZ)
