A medallion carpet of a large size from the famous master workshops in Marand, forty kilometres northwest of Tabriz, where outstanding decorative works were created in very limited quantities. This paradisiacal carpet features mythical creatures, animals and flowers, as well as inscriptions in the inner secondary border. Well preserved, with original cotton edges, and several traces of use. (VP)
