Modern Art

The ever-popular Modern Art Department continues to generate high demand and has achieved record prices with works by such artists as Kolo Moser, Egon Schiele, Max Liebermann, Gustav Klimt, Albin Egger-Lienz, Giorgio Morandi, Alexander Archipenko, Marino Marini, Fernando Botero, and Giorgio de Chirico. 

Dorotheum hosts regular auctions of modern art in Vienna featuring works by Alberto Giacometti, Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, Max Ernst, Alexei Jawlensky and Chaim Soutine, and the corresponding artistic movements Impressionism, Expressionism, Art Nouveau and Cubism. Viennese turn-of-the-19th-century art is particularly well represented by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, and Oskar Kokoschka. Items on sale vary in medium, including oil paintings, works on paper, drawings, sculptures and installations.
