Antique scientific instruments and globes, which are not only practical but also hold great aesthetic value, take us back to the early cabinets of curiosities in scientific history. Auctioned twice a year at the Palais Dorotheum are medical equipment and models, pharmaceutical equipment, microscopes, telescopes, binoculars and other optical instruments, physical testing and demonstration models, scales and weights, meteorological instruments and equipment, timekeeping (sundials and compasses) as well as surveying (geodesy), ivory models, machine and ship models, globes and planetaria.
