1981 Ferrari Mondial 8

1981 Ferrari Mondial 8 - Classic Cars

Ferrari presented the successor to the 308 GT 4 at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1980. The coupé, called the Mondial, was aimed at a new clientèle. The spacious 2+2 seater was equipped with the famous V8 engine sparked by a fuel injection system. The performance was toned down for reasons of etiquette, something that many at the time considered a flaw. It took longer for collectors to discover the car for the same reason.

This Mondial was first registered in Switzerland on January 8, 1901. The elegant colour scheme is typical for the model. According to the inspections noted on the vehicle registration, the coupé saw little use between 1999 and 2004 – the mileage in 2004 was only 37,300 km. The Ferrari came to Austria in 2006 and the consigner acquired it in 2012. The various bills show that it has had mechanical maintenance in particular since that time. The Mondial got new tires and rims in 2013. The timing belt was changed in 2015, among other things. The paint was likely redone some time ago at a reasonable cost for that time. The cream-coloured leather interior shows the typical signs of wear, as does the paint. The recent maintenance history makes the Mondial a trustworthy vehicle, however. A mechanically intact sport coupé with visual potential!
