Peter van den Brink, to whom we are grateful, believes that the Child is in keeping with the type used by Van Scorel, whereas he recognises the Master of the Parrot’s influence in the Madonna. He believes that the painting may be attributed to Van Scorel’s student Dirck Jacobsz. (Amsterdam 1496–1567).
