Condition: The original leather binding is damaged. The index has been restored in the past. The content part is in good condition. Missing in comparison with the Bibliography: The first part of the Old Testament, i.e. The Book of Moses to Ecclesiasticus [XXII]-1263 (p. 1221) - [XXIV]p.

St. Wenceslaus Bible was the first book to be published by St. Wenceslaus Heritage that was founded by Václav Matěj Štajer and his mother. Long-term translation work and the actual publishing were gradually initiated by three Prague Archbishops: Matouš Ferdinand of Bilenberk, Jan Bedřich of Wallenstein and last but not least Ferdinand of Khünburk. The foundation was determined by the Vulgate of St. Jerome and the Venetian Bible from 1506 also served as a template. St. Wenceslaus Bible served as a basis for all other Catholic Bible editions in Bohemia.
