Influenced by similar compositions by Savery and the Bouttats, the present painting, which must be considered a work of the 18th century because of its colour scheme and landscape approach, could not as yet be assigned to a specific artist. The traces of a signature might suggest that the artist may be Joseph Lacquy, however, no comparable work is known.
