Palová Zora (1947)

Forget-Me-Not
aquamarine glass, fused in a mould, polished, 39 x 50 x 35 cm, made in 2002

Zora Palová graduated in 1975 from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava from the glass in architecture studio under prof. Václav Cígler. After his studies, she devoted herself to being a freelance artist. She made objects and jewelry out of glass. Between the years 1996 – 2003 she worked as a professor of glass in the UK at the University of Sunderland. She works solely with the fused sculpture technique in her work. She seeks inspiration in nature and living organisms. Her sensitive work with the translucence of the materials and her playfulness with the surface structure of the glass lends the works their fragile poetry, which is typical for her work.
