Brussels Bowl
crystal glass, round bowl with cut lenses, marked with signature, 2007, made in the MOSER Glassworks, diameter 42 cm, height 11 cm

Limited edition of 15 pieces.

The replica on offer is of a famous bowl from the EXPO exhibition in Brussels in 1958, and was made for the 50th anniversary of the world exhibition. A different picture is reflected in each cut lens and thus creates infinite optical effects. The Moser Glassworks produced a limited series of 15 pieces. We are offering the next to last object from this edition.

Miluše Roubíčková - Kytková graduated from the VŠUP in 1949 from the studio of prof. Kaplický. At the beginning of her career, she mainly worked with a cutting technique. The bowls and vases of cut crystal, which won her an award at the EXPO in Brussels in 1958, are exceptional. In the 1960s she was one of the first to experiment with multicolored glass, which she worked into a thickness. For EXPO 67 in Montreal in Canada, she created a pop art installation out of glass flowers in vases and trays with fruit and cakes. In her works, she focused among other things on an esthetic of everyday things - she was fascinated by heads of cabbage, preserve jars, boxes, shopping bags or garden gnomes.
