German, circa 1870, the core covered with red morocco leather, the front with red felt underlay, silver lace and cord decoration, the centre with silver embroidered monogram 'RN' with similar raised noble crown, traces of age, II (JZG)

The present sabre bag probably comes from the personal squadron of the Hereditary Count Reinhard Neipperg (1856-1919)
